ABOUT ME

I’m Ashley Manwell, a graduate of Algonquin College’s Advertising and Marketing Communications Management program.

I love bringing stories to life through design, marketing, and hands-on creativity, such as drawing and crocheting. My portfolio showcases that passion for turning imagination into visuals that are both meaningful and exciting.

My name is Ashley Manwell, and I am a Graphic Designer.

Just For Food - Campaign

Campaign Problem

The Grow Together campaign faced low community garden participation due to its perception as an intimidating, exclusive space lacking fun and clear benefits for newcomers.

Solution

Transformed it into a warm, inclusive hub with the 'Just for Food' stained glass-style campaign. Hand-drawn in Illustrator, it features bright, colourful visuals of diverse people harvesting gardens. Friendly typography and playful motifs to boost sign-ups by sparking creativity and connection.

Next Generation HKY - Social Media Internship

During my internship at Next Gen Hockey Development, I create visually appealing

social media posts that advertise their skill-building programs and camps.

Highlights

  • Design eye-catching graphics and videos spotlighting training sessions, camps, and player success.

  • Use bold colours, dynamic layouts, and hockey flair to draw in young athletes and families.

  • Boost program awareness through scroll-friendly content that highlights fun, growth, and community.

My Approach
Warm and bright branding with cozy textures, modern typography, and social media carousels highlighting creativity and planet-friendly vibes. (AI enhanced some graphics.)

The Result
An inviting brand that makes sustainability feel accessible and fun.

Animal Portraits

One of my favourite creative outlets is drawing realistic animal portraits. I start with subtle outlines, build them up with intricate small shapes, and watch them come together into lifelike artwork in my distinctive style.
